Contact tracing is a personal responsibility.
EasyTrace allows you to securely and privately record who you have made contact with and what places you have visited.
If you get the phone call saying you have tested positive for Covid 19, to inhibit further spread you need to be able to provide a list of everyone you have been in contact with and everywhere you have been.
If you can't provide that list fast and accurately the risk is very simple, Covid 19 will spread and we will all end up back in Level 3 or 4.
The harsh reality is failure to contact trace might result in people dying.
This is a billion dollar problem and we need to do our part.
HOW IT WORKS

EASY
EasyTrace simply provides a tool that lets you record the people or places you make contact with.
Contact Tracing has become a mess, with the number of different style QR Codes and different Apps. We have made EasyTrace able to scan any QR Code, simply click Scan a QR Code, maneuver the camera so the QR Code shows on the screen and then it will process it. If the code hasn't been verified it will ask you for the business name, but other than that you are done.
If they don't have easyTrace you can enter them as a casual contact, whereby you just enter their name and phone number if you can.
You can choose whether or not you record a contact, it is up to you and it is a tool that will help as much as you want to let it.
To register we need Name, Phone, Email and Password. When you register EasyTrace will produce a 7 digit code.
If you give that code to someone, they can record contact with you using it. ie if you go somewhere and don't have a device, they can enter the contact via that code, or they can enter the contact via your Phone and Email details.

FAST
The fastest way to record contact is via a QR Code. If you visit someone or somewhere that has an easyTrace QR code you can simply scan it and answer a couple of questions and that's it

EasyTrace is 2 way. That means if you go to the gym for example, they have to record your contact by law. When you scan the Gyms QR Code the gym's register shows you as a visitor and your register shows you visited the gym..
If you get asked where you have been EasyTrace knows you have been to the Gym and if they get asked who has been to their Gym they know about you.
If you don't have your device with you for some reason, everything still works.
They can enter your details or you can load them manually when you get a chance.

SECURE
We care about your information as much as you.
In the event that you are identified as having been in contact with a potential Covid carrier you will be contacted to approve the release or your tracing informaiton.
We purposely decided not to make
EasyTrace an app which you have to download. It is just a web page. We don't have any ability to get any information off your device.
Your privacy matters.Your data is safe and EasyTrace only knows what you choose to tell it.
To further enable you to maintain a level of anonymity EasyTrace allows you to record contacts as anonymous. In the gym example, when you scan their QR Code EasyTrace will show on your device that you are at the Gym (which they can visually check) but from the gym's perspective they just know you as anonymous. If the Gym gets asked to Contact Trace they will come to EasyTrace and we will give the information to the Ministry to allow them to contact you,.

COMPACT
What does compact mean?
EasyTrace has been designed to minimise your data use and device storage.
The last thing we want is for you to Trace yourselves and run out of your data. That's why our screens are black and white, colour and flashy images consume data. We don't store information on your phone, we store it in our database leaving your storage for you.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
We would love to believe Covid was gone, it would be great if it was.
Sadly we don't think that's the case and if we are not careful we will all end up back at Level 3 in a few weeks, and we really don't want that.
We believe Contact Tracing is our best weapon against this virus and so we have made EasyTrace.
Lots of companies have made 1 way tracing apps that a business can use to record its visitors, but we don't believe that helps. If someone with Covid forgets they have been to the business, then there is no value in the business having their name.
Each of us need to record our own activity and easyTrace is designed to make that as easy as possible.
THE PERFECT TRACING TOOL
EasyTrace isn't the perfect tool yet, and it may never be but we are going to do everything we can to make it that. We will keep thinking about ways to make it better, more useable, easier, whatever.
For example we are working on loading your details to other tracing systems when they use a system other than EasyTrace. ie if you scan a tracing.co.nz QR Code, easyTrace will detect it and process it, recording the contact in EasyTrace and in tracing.co.nz.
Why, because that is what the Perfect Tracing Tool would do!
If I go out to dinner with my family, I don't want to have to record everyone individually, EasyTrace lets you build a bubble and select which members of the bubble are with you. Why, because that is what the perfect tracing tool would do.
WHAT IS AWESOME TRACING
When it comes to Tracing Covid 19, timing is everything.
If someone gets Covid 19, we need to know where they have been and who they may have inadvertently put at risk, and we need to know it fast. Waiting to be contacted to then go through a process of remembering where we have been and who we saw, to then have to contact those place and get a list from each business is not fast.
Asymptomatic transmission is one of the most dangerous elements of the virus. Awesome tracing means that we can tell you where you have been, and we can work out who is at risk. That's the easy bit, but the awesome bit is that we can then work out who they have been in contact with, and who those people have been in contact with.
It doesn't take long before that list gets really big, but that's Okay, that's what we call awesome tracing.
PRIVACY
We need to ensure people know their information is safe and that their privacy is maintained. We don't give access to your contact information to the places/people you visit. If they have a legitimate reason to obtain the information, they have to request it from us and we will request permission from you.
Anonymous mode allows you to go about your life recording your contacts for your own peace of mind and knowing that no one else can see that information.
SHOW ME
You can Log in using your Phone Number, Email Address or your Unique Code, what ever is easiest for you.
We require these details so we can contact you, but also so we can verify its you when you return or visit somewhere without a device
If you show your QR Code to someone they can open their Camera and it will scan, and give them a web link which they can click on, which will open the page for them to record the contact with you. Or you can add someone manually.
